- spoke about the projects that are being completed in the department
- paid particular interest to the scrolls collection
- a collection of scrolls that have been digitized and are now used as research tools for students. the scrolls have "hot points" in which informational bubbles reveal themselves
- discussed the future caves project
- their are several headless Buddhas in caves--this project will superimpose the heads to the bodies and create a virtual representation for study

- Spoke with Mark Olson one of the creators of ARTFL
- ARTFL currently consists of nearly 2000 texts, ranging from classic works of French literature to various kinds of non-fiction prose and technical writing.
- It is a database in which various searches can be done in order to complete linguistic analysis, etc...
